The High School Loyola Para la Ciencia Y La Innovación, was Created on January the 6th of 2010, in agreement with the Municipal Secretary of Education, the Loyola Foundation and the Sena. The high school is located in the neighborhood Toscana in Medellin city,  it is an official high school. We started work on February the 1st of 2010 with 105 students from eighth grade from the most vulnerable sectors of the city,  those students approved a process of admission led from the SENA and The Secretary of Education.

Nowadays the high school has 210 students on the grades eighth and ninth, they are divided in seven groups: four on eighth grade and three on ninth grade, each group is composed by around thirty students distributed on collaborative teams of four to five students.

                         
 

 

The students of the High School Loyola Para la Ciencia Y La Innovacion are protagonist of his own learning and are committed with their academic excellence.

Besides they are characterized for their restless youth that questions constantly, they maintain their open mind going farther from the offered truth, looking for higher levels of complexity in each step,  they face risks as soon as his learning because have the trust sufficient to test their ideas without fear of making mistakes, because they consider the fails as the starting point to building of his knowledge. The students develop all his potential creative and innovate in the different learning areas to look and face his reality from different perspectives, including the English as foreign language, enhancing so their scientific- technological and communicative competences. Therefore they are young with high self-steem, happy, honest, solidary, autonomous , responsibly with themselves and with their environment, are respectful with the institution, with their fellows , with their teachers and with the democratic society, they act on an ethic and constructive way, they are avid of learning and assume his work of personal way, but also they develop skills for the collaborative work in the scope of little groups and conscious of his own remains and limits.

                          
 

 

•Based in the constructive theory, the pedagogical model of the High School Loyola Para La Ciencia Y La Innovacion, is based in the development of  collaborative projects of learning focused on science and technology with a approach for skills, where the student is protagonist in the building of knowledge. The model includes a mediator teacher, a strategic teacher, a didactic teacher and a methodological teacher,  chords with a scenario of appropriate learning.
